I would imagine that there are several ways to get there:

MBA, business management, marketing dept. etc.

Doctor of Medicine, excellent medical work, research etc.

Masters in Public Health Administration, management positions in hospitals.

You will need to start off by working in the administrative offices of the hospital until you have earned your degree, the more you know the better.

There are not a lot of colleges out there that offer an undergraduate degree in the field but you need to find a place that has a BA program in Health Care Administration, and from there you will most likely need to get your Master's degree...Now there are varying opinions on what degree you need here as you can just continue down the same road and get an MBA in HCA or I know a few people that have gone the Public Health or straight Business Admin...

It will take a lot of time and effort, but if it is something you really want you will need to make sure you surround yourself with very helpful academic advisers through your education and then work your tail off once you get into the hospital..

Get a degree in Hospital Administration. Wouldn't hurt to also become a Fellow in ACHE. Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas has an excellent program.
