The Raiders have "the rights" to Jamarcus Russell so if he doesn't come to a deal with the Raiders, the only thing Al Davis could do is trade him and hope to get something in return but if he doesn't sign for whatever reason, it will be that much harder for another NFL Team to acquire him or the Raiders to get any value for him

No other team would be able to sign him prior to the next NFL draft. The only way another team could sign him before that is if the Oakland Raiders trade him. Personally, I hope he signs quickly and gets into Raider camp.

The Raiders have the exclusive right to Russell. He cannot sign with another team. Think about how many players would do that if it was actually possible. It would be utter chaos.

He will not be available as a free agent for another team to sign. However, should he not get signed by the next draft in April, he would re-enter the draft and be avaialble that way. That would never happen- Oakland would trade his signing rights to another team before they throw away a top draft pick for nothing in return

He was drafted by the Raiders...They have the rights to him...No one else can sign him unless the Raiders trade him...
