On IMDB.com how do you add yourself if you are a director/actor?

Anyone can add themselves to IMDB! Of course IMDB will verify the entries. Here is the link:

You do not generally add yourself. Your film must be submitted once it has played in an accepted venue and meets all the criteria. If you were inadvertantly left off the credits of a film that is already listed you can submit that info on the production page for that project, they will check the info with the production peple, and add it if they confirm the info.

Submitting to IMDB is actually very difficult. I have done several films with low to no budget, I have directed and produced them.

However IMDB requires your short film to have been released to a short film festival, and the film festivals that you submit to may or may not fall into the IMDB guidelines.

For example, one of my film submissions looks like this:

If you know of anyone who has gotten items submitted to IMDB, then I suggest you get their help to sit down and work with you while you submit.

IMDB is a great resource, however it is designed so that only real films and entertainment professionals are able to add their credits.

In some cases you may have to send IMDB a copy of your short, and a film festival play list with your film highlighted.
Read the help on how to get listed in the help files. However vauge they may be, there's still some help in there.


I should add, that yes you are able to add yourself. However if IMDB finds out that you have lied, or added false information, you will be promptly removed from the site, and if you are added by someone else, that the process is harder of adding you.
