Starting about a month or so ago, I started getting bombarded with spam of two different varieties. The first would have a one word subject with a PDF attachment. The second was telling me I had an eCard from a family friend/classmate/colleague/etc.
The eCard messages have started getting filtered by my spam and junk mail controls, but about 5-10 messages with the PDF attachments are getting through every day.

For what it's worth, I have spam/junk mail controls through my antivirus software as well as junk mail controls with Thunderbird.

I have and I opened up one. Fortunately, my spam/virus blocker protected me; now when i get them, immediate deletion

Yes, I've been flooded with them. I just delete them all immediately.
