Wild Seed by Octavia E. Butler was the best book I read. It made me think in a completely new way. It inspired me to write sci-fi, fantasy.

Well, Catch XXII is my the really best one. I am only 17, and this book isn't actually preferred among my peers, not even adults are able to read it. It's quite long, some parts may seem to be too boring to be read, but I love it though. I love irony and satire, and in this book....there is unbelievable amount of both things. I, honestly, can't understand how the author managed to use so much of irony and satire. It's just perfect. Author shows his opinion on the World War in the way, i am completely amazed by. And the end...I have never met with any better ending of the book. I read quite a lot, but after reading this book, I had to stop reading books in general for a while, because that book caught me so tough, I was feelling like not being in reality . I even still live in that book, even though I have stopped reading it weeks ago. It tell us that even such a serious topic the World War surely is, can be treated with humour, which makes everything nice and easy. We should have this idea always on our minds.

The best book I have ever read is "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey. The story he tells is unlike any other I have ever read. The way he writes too, its just unbelievable. When he is describing his pain and things like that, the reader can actually feel what he feels. That is a great author. The fact that the whole story is the story of his life just makes it even better.

I am an avid reader. The one that most comes to my mind is Shane Steven's book, "By Reason of Insanity." This book is one I will always remember as a real thriller. Of course, I have read many, many books of many genre. So, the favorites really do change with whatever type book you are reading.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X....for personal reasons I guess....it dealt with my racial identity, even racial ambiguity, the anger concerning bigotry, the bitterness created by racism, consequences of a criminal lifestyle, and making the transition from being a protege of a mentor to becoming a even greater man by taking time to explore the world and gathering knownledge of yourself....truly seeing a man go through so many stages of life and becoming a historical figure...monumental...also Quincy Jones's memoir "Q", and Ray Charles's "Brother Ray" were truly great literary experiences that touched on Race, Popular culture, and some fascinating times in history.

I've read 3-4 novels per week since I began seriously reading in 1979.
That was 28 years ago.
There are 52 weeks per year.
Using 3 novels as my basis, that would be 156 novels PER YEAR.
That means I have roughly read 4,368 novels so far, in my life.
Pick any of them as my "favorite"...just as long as it's NOT Harry Potter. That topic has been beaten mercilessly into the ground here on Y!Answers.
