Let them know you are an adult and will pay your own way if that is what is needed. Explain to them that you will not be so harsh to them in their time of need. Tell them you love them. Ask them to visit this website. http://www.pflag.org/

Do not mirror your parents poor actions. Raise above it and set an example for them to follow. Some one needs to be the adult, why not YOU!

Personally, I'd probably attend and see where it takes me. I don't buy into the whole "ex-gay ministry" thing but I'm certainly not scared of going to one of them.

I'm assuming that they will still pay your tuition if you go to the ministry and still come out as gay as the day that you went in, right? I'd want to have that understanding on the front end.

I would completely promise to go in with an open mind (and I would go in with an open mind) and truly listen to what they have to say. But, if I still felt that I was gay upon completion, I wouldn't want them coming back at me saying that they would only pay if I changed.

Just as a side note---you should tell your parents to read the article about the head of the "exodus international ex-gay ministry". They could find out about his "bathroom break" at a very prominent gay bar...........The facts are there. Let them take a look at that!

If that doesn't work and your parents won't agree to pay your tuition without you denouncing your "gayness", then I'd apply for student loans and get on with living my life independently.

Love with conditions is not love, it's control.

Best of luck to you.

Okay, let's forget for a minute that I think that's kinda hot. LOL

Anyhow, NO - never compromise yourself for anyone, not even your parents. There are a million ways to pay for school, now or later. Apply for grants as an independent individual. Reschedule your life to take classes part time and work full-time - it's how I did it. It takes longer, but once you're done, you're DONE. :) You could get loans out the wazoo, change to a cheaper school - your opportunities are endless, my friend.

Let your parents know how miserable they're trying to make you. Load 'em with guilt - that's what a ministry's all about anyway, isn't it? :)

And if you ever decide to go the ministry, give me a call and give me details! >:) Kidding, hope this helps! XOXO

Tell them you'll go as soon as they sign up for the ex-straight "ministry."

After all, their orientation is as like to "change" as yours is.

Then make plans on how to get scholarships or earn your own tuition, I'm afraid. That's what I had to do sophmore year of college, when I couldn't stand the hatred any more.

Time to get a higher paying job to pay for your own schooling.

Go ahead and attend. There is no scientific evidence that they work. Once you have graduated do what makes you happy.

Say I am saddened to see that your love has limits. I home you remember this when you get old and I have to decide what home to place you into for care.

Then go get a FASFA application or a student loan and move on with your life.
