Used the carpet cleaner, then shop vac, then propped NEW mattress up and put fan on it. Couldn't get to store to buy anything, but if it's not too late I will try the mixture. I'm wondering- Is the mattress a total loss with one accident?

If you have a wet/dry vac now would be a good time to use the wet part of the vac... Try to extract as much of the urine out of the mattress as possible.. If no shop vac.. .Take a towel and blot as much of the urine out of the mattress as possible.. Take warm water with some laundry detergent and blot the area and then blot with dry towel... You may have to repeat this process several times... Blot with the dry towel until you aren't getting up any more urine... Let the spot air dry, a fan is helpful.... While that's drying go to the store and buy some ZORBEX it's available at LOWE'S or WALGREENS and spray.. It gets rid of odors... Then get yourself a waterproof mattress pad... It will save your mattress.. Good luck

This is a recipe I have used to get the smell of pet and kids urine stains out of both carpet & mattresses. Just make sure you saturate the entire area & let it air dry - DO NOT blot it with a towel to dry it. Mix 2 cups hydrogen peroxide, 2 drops of dish soap (like dawn or palmolive) and 2 tablespoons baking soda - stir, but DO NOT put a lid on it. Pour directly on the mattress until the stained area is saturated & let air dry - you can put a fan near it to help the drying process. For some reason this mixture will take most if not all of the stain out and will take ALL of the smell away - and really the smell is the worst part. Also works on carpet - just make sure the carpet is saturated down to the pad & let it air dry

Sadly, giving the mattress a scrub is only a quick, temporary fix. The urine soaks all the way through the mattress and will eventually begin breeding mold and other bacteria. You will need to start thinking about replacing it and putting a waterproof mattress cover on it to keep it from happening again.

Try using a towel to absorb most of it then. put some vinegar on it and put it outside in the sun. The sun and vinegar will completely disenfect it and you shouldn't have the smell anymore either. Good luck!

I would say that the only hope would be a deep steam cleaner, otherwise it is a total loss.

Firstly, mop up excess dampness, then steam clean it,and leave it to air. This will also kill ne spores that are trying to grow. After that, give ur child's bed a steam clean every month,it works wonders. :)

I really don't think you can. You just wash it down the best you can.
