Isn't it funny that after so much time has passed there are apparently thousands of people still obsessed with somebody else's personal affairs?

A great point, yeah nobody has gone the other way. I said a couple of months back that of the supporters not many would actually stand up and say what they did was right, and of that minority even fewer are parents. I still think it is true, only now they have a smaller pool of supporters to begin with. Do they really think most people don't blame them?
They are going to have a serious collision with reality at some point and I hope I'm there to see it.

I think that you probably knew, even before Eden posted her answer, that what you were saying was not true. I believe that most people are possessed of far more compassion and humility than you are inclined to demonstrate.
Anyway, my immediate thought was "They did what?". Then when I actually thought about it and related it to my own experience (as a responsible parent but one living in the real world) I began to see that the situation was not black and white and realised that judging them - in the way that I have seen you and a number of others do ever since - was not reasonable or compassionate or justified. Thus, you might say that I altered my view from being "anti" to being "pro" (to use the simplistic shorthand we've resorted to)
I am not a child neglecter and I do not support child neglect. I do not condone what the McCanns did on May 3rd but I am not persuaded that their actions before, on, or after May 3rd have ever amounted to neglect of their children.

i am not anti or pro anything although my point of view has changed, when the news first broke i thought it could have been a tragic lapse of judgement but as the evidence and pictures have come forth it is now easy to see that those children were put in a position that was neglectful in their duty of care as parents, that does not mean that i am going to start calling the parents silly names as if i was in kindergarten, what they did was wrong, and their lack of public emotion is hardening ppl's views of them as parents. if the latest quote you have found about them leaving the kids as they felt that they also needed a holiday is found to be truthful then i would truly feel that charges should be bought against them for such wicked abandon but until the truth emerges i shall withold judgment.

I agree with Eden here not all Pro's are child neglecter's but I think the way the McCann's have behaved is making people less sympathetic towards them and begining to think that there may even be something more sinister going on when Robert Murat has so obviously stitched up!!

I cant support people that feel theres no real issue with leaving their 3 babies alone at night to go for dinner, in a foreign country.
I pray that little girl comes home. What they done is unforgivable.

toietmoi you are spot on... I can't even be bothered anymore to read, much less answer any questions posted by the "Anti-McCann" brigade. I have better things to be doing with my time, unlike most of them...

No offence, but I wish people wouldn't keep using the terms "anti McCann" or "pro McCann" . I am personally and have been since the beginning "anti" people who put an innocent child in danger. I am "anti" child neglect and "anti" parents who have children and then neglect their duties for their own self gratification. Whether their name is McCann, Smith or Jones! I am however "pro" Madeleine and want her found safe and well!
