Nobody really wants perfection. The sad thing is that from the media bombardment, people are starting to BELIEVE that they do. This leads them to be very unrealistic in their search parameters.

This is a question that an old frond and I discussed in the pub (it's a third pint discussion, y'know the one that's honest and without flannel) and we do not know the answer, both of us having been married for nearly 40 years and are saddened by the amount of rubbish of both sexes which are about.
The nearest we could get perhaps is the consumer society, Either it is immediate satisfaction or it gets returned dumped or put in the shed. Many people not just the very young seem to think that moving in together or getting married is the end of the story without realising that it is the beginning and both of you have to learn to live with one another and it is not easy. Sadly I think the moving in together simply shows a lack of commitment

Well perfection is one of the culprits when it comes to finding a partner. Nowadays people who to date someone who looks like a celebrity and if you don not fit in with their expectation, well you are dumped. I blame the media!

And what ever happened to loving someone the way they are imperfection or not? And I do think no one is perfect.

confident, extraordinarily whether that's a lucid answer that tolerates some forethought in the previous being digested. i assume one way and yet another this is been a protracted attempting year for extraordinarily lots anybody everywhere. Tempers are frayed, blood stress raised and the rubbish sell off that passes for mass media winds us all as much as the factor to explosion on a on a daily basis foundation. and of direction we've greater places to bypass and vent, achieving a much wider objective audience. in step with risk we could desire to convey back the village pump and the shares and ban the cyber web! yet that must be boring......

I know, but i guess it's because no one really wants to settle for just anyone. The difficulty also is that today (or may be since the beginning of time) people have too many expectations of their potential partners and are unwilling to compromise in re: to this. Maybe finding 'decency' in itself, is the major difficulty!!!

you are so right. I am afraid that eventually I might become like those people around me, looking for only perfection. some people look at physical appearance, some prefer money, .... is it possible that people are afraid of relationships, and "the perfection" is only an excuse? any how, here is a star for you.

It has not become increasingly difficult. People have asked this question since the beginning of time and they will continue asking it long after we are all dead.

I have no solution to this but there are decent men and women out there but sadly there are loads of idiots too! No one is perfect but I have to admit my hubby is the nearest I will get to it. Sometimes our expectations are a little to high.

Because people expect more from everyone else but are less inclined to give more. Sad but common cycle.

People need to give more to get more just like the penny song.

Love is like a magic penny hold on tight and you wont get any. Lend it, spend it give it away and it will come right back to you.

If you find someone who accepts you just as you are , and you accept that person as they are, and both of you give 100%, then that is as close to perfect as your gonna get. My wife and I live by this , and we've been married 19 years.
