A blood test (and if hCG is present, another test 72 hours later) should do the trick.

You can have hCG in your system for up to 8 weeks after a birth so a urine test probably wouldn't be accurate.

A blood test will actually measure the amount of hCG in your blood. If hCG shows up, a test 72 hours later will be able to confirm whether the levels have increased sufficiently to confirm a pregnancy. If the levels are stable or have dropped, you are likely not pregnant.

A physical exam at 6 weeks post partum would make it pretty hard to confirm either way.

Not just by checking your cervix or anything. But if you think you are, ask for a pregnancy test.
