I suppose there are still a few of this type around and Prince Charlas and his elk are the nearest I can think of to the quintesential english gentleman or there again the excecutives of companys who have made their fourtunes and retired early I supose would have adopted this kind of lifestyle.
Actors who seem to play these roles best are people like Hugh Lawrie Stephen Fry Simon Williams or Nigel Havers
