Just heard they may try to make it a law in my state that if a woman is wanting an abortion the father of the unborn child will have the last say so on whether or not he'll permit this to take place. Married or not. DO you think that should be allowed?

I heard this on the news this morning, and is really a hard question.I absolutely do not approve of abortion.Well in the first place there is too much birth control out now a days for him and her ,so she doesn't need to get pg.If she is of age and doesn't want the baby and the father does maybe she would consider giving the baby to him.Read Psalm 139.

Only if he does not want her to have the baby but he wants it and will keep it. No one should have to keep a child they are not ready for, but in my opinion no one should kill a child that one parent would willingly bring up alone and love.

I myself could never do this, but you get into it as a couple you should both have some sort of say in the outcome. To me if you really don;t want it to happen then it's up to you to make sure it doesn't.

Of course in the case of rape the man should have no say.

Over all I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to this.

Actually yes, I do think that's a good idea. I think BOTH parents have a right to choose and if the woman decides she doesn't want it, but the father does, then by all means, let him take care of it (unless of course, it is a situation of rape or something like that).

I don't think so but there are cases where women have eggs fertilized and stored while they are married and after the divorce, have the eggs implanted so they can become pregnant. If women can do this I guess it is only fair to included men on the decision of an abortion.

Absolutely NOT, I had a friend who didn't want children and her man was secretly cutting the tips of the condoms! When she founf out she left him and had an abortion. She would have been stuck in a very unfortiunate situation. I think Abortion should be legal completely. There would be WAY TOO MANY home abortions, WAY TOO MANY dumpster babys, and WAY TOO MANY shildren in foster homes if abortion were made illegal in ANY way.

I don't know...on one hand, it would make sense to let the father have the child if he wants it...on the other hand, it is the woman carrying the child...on the third hand, I dislike abortion altogether. Meh, you're never gonna solve this on Y!A.

I gave this a lot of thought.
In a rare case it would depend.
For the most part that would be a bad law to pass.
If it passed & I found that I was pregnant, I would keep it to myself.
At my age,I don't need to be concerned about this. Mums the word.

It's in the woman...she is the one who has most rights over her baby and u can't force her to have a baby....it's much harder than it looks, and that's what I think most guys don't understand...I think she has every right to abort her baby if she wants to.

no because most of the guys dont want the responsibilty they help to create.. so they will allow the female to get the abortion. there needs to be a law against abortion PERIOD. abortion is murder!

no because it is not possible to prove paternity at that stage. and a woman's body is her own. she should be able to decide what medical care and procedures to allow or deny. a person has the right to opt for treatment for cancer or to decline why should this be any different once you remove the morality issue.
