personally...I am disappointed that Imus was run out of town....he is trying to get ratings and a jerk....but this is the US....our options are to NOT LISTEN TO HIM....sheesh....a newspaper that prints garbage or a celbrity magazine...DONT BUY IT...but taking it off the shelf is censorship....not happy with that...

Don Imus has done it for over 40 years. He should have been fired a long time ago. Don Imus said that Venus and Serena Williams should be in National Geographic instead of Playboy. These women are very talented tennis players and beautiful black women. Don Imus picked on young black college women calling them nappy-headed hos. I rarely watch Jay Leno and laugh at his jokes. Jay is OK. Don Imus took it too far. Jay and Don audiences are 99.9% white anyway. So they must love hearing that stuff. Don Imus racial slur upset the whole nation. He should be ashamed of himself and retired gracefully. As far as comedians you're paying money to go see them, you know what getting into. If you don't like them, don't pay to see them or turned the TV off.

Leno's joking but Imus made a straight forward remark directed at someone specific. So he should be reprimanded for his words and taught a lesson.

Personally, I never cared for Imus' humor, but he should never have been taken off the air. He has always been an "equal opportunity" shock jock...in other words he attacked EVERYBODY...regardless of race, color, or creed. There are specific words you DON'T say on the air that can (and should) get you kicked off. "Nappy-headed ho's" are not among those words. Was it tasteless...definitely. Was it illegal...no. Sharpton and Jackson were just looking for the latest tempest in a teapot to get themselves in front of the cameras.

Don Imus is clearly a racist. I don't think Jay is a racist. Don went too far and got fired. If people support his new show, then we live in a sick world. I remember a time when white folks thought it was OK to bomb a church and killed four innocent girls.
