That is probably what will happen. It is obvious that Gonzales cannot be effective as AG. He has tried to cover for this administration but he has done it so ineptly that no one believes him and no one can defend him. A recess appointment is Bush’s best opportunity to get the Department of Justice under control.

That's my current prediction.

Wait a few weeks into the recess to clear the news cycle, then have Gonzales claim some minor victory over something and then resign for "personal reasons".

Sure. Gonzales will walk the plank for his boss and Bush will appoint another crony/puppet to the Attorney General's office.

Gonzales is just another distraction for the do nothing Congress from its inefficiency, to do anything for the average tax payer, who pays $3 Trillion a year to the IRS to get nothing in return. Zip, Zero, zilch.

Why? There is no reason for him to resign. If the job isn't done according to the Presidents satisfaction, they may be let go. Clinton did it, and where was the uproar then?

why -- he's done nothing wrong -- if ur talking about the firing of the Clinton lawyers -- he had every right to do so -- they work at the want and request of the administration ... did you know that Clinton fired all repeat all the people that Regan had put in the same offices when Clinton came into office -- course nobody said anything about it then or now -- do u really think a dem will allow a republican person to sit in their seats after they get voted into the executive branch -- right!!
