My area doesn't have most of the seeds that are on this website, and this site gives a lot of seeds too for one packet. I am going to buy A LOT of seeds from here in January, so Is it a good idea? Have you ever bought something from this site? Oh, and I live in Ontario, Canada. How much would shipping and handeling be for about 50 seed packets? Thanks.

keep this website handy.....

anytime you need to know if a website/catalog ordering place is worth your time or not, check there for whether folks liked it or not.....

using the alphabet near the bottom of the page, Park Seed gets a green star, which is GOOD.....I'd order from them with confidence.....

I've never heard fo that place as I buy my seeds from burpee.com. Usually the shipping and handling depends on the total cost of how much you buy and not on the weight. Whatever the cost is it's the same everywhere so you can't get away from paying that if ordering thru the net. But buying from a reputable seed place is good because their seeds eliminate the weeds and bugs. There are a few new things yo have to watch out for though. Some seeds you have to plant yearly, some you get seeds froma nd have to re-seed, and some come up year after year...be sure you choose the kind you want. These days there are seeds that already come with pesticide on them....(you may be hesitant to buy those)....and there are organic seeds (which cost a little more)...and there are seeds that have been tweaked so they are heavy producers such as for hot peppers.....and there are also ones called heirloom which are the old standbys (this seed being used for many years and still is popular).

Dittos for "meanolmaw".

I used to be a confirmed Burpee buyer, but I like the varieties and consistently good performance of Park Seeds ever so slightly over Burpee.

Park's shipping costs are high, in my opinion, however, and they are not particularly specialized in short season areas such as yours, although they have plenty of varieties from which to choose.

Like all major seed providers, Park has a tendency to pawn off 'mistakes' in their breeding efforts, so stick with "All-American" winning seed varieties while watching for any particular zonal restrictions.

If you are organically concerned, Park doesn't have a large variety of organically-grown seed, and, like Burpee, they have a lot of hybrids that have been altered for maximum production and 'looks'.

Google for Canadian or cold-area seed specialists as an alternative for the Burpee-Park seed companies. If you are going to purchase large quantities of a particular type of seed, neither Park or Burpee are the best for that because of their higher bulk prices. Stokes might be a better choice for that.

I have gotten seed from them and am pleased with the service and all the little gifts they send. Check out the website or give them a call to check on the shipping in your area.
