Like cleaning the inner rims of public toilets, picking berries in the hot sun, shoveling mouse droppngs out of grain silos, weed-wacking and working with insecticides.

I have cleaned toilets and I have cleaned grain silos, working with no medical insurance near farm equipment, one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. My point, however, is that these jobs are backbreaking and pay poorly. If they start paying more, you will soon pay a lot more for food.

That's exactly why we need immigrant labor. Americans are to high on themselves to do those types of jobs.

I'm willing to pay for our laws being enforced. Plus I'm not against a guest worker program.
Curious- if we demand, for American citizens, health & safety standards and minimum wages and all the entitlements employers are required by law to provide, why do we want a secret underclass that does not have this quality of life?

Americans built this country, so they already did those jobs before. All the illegals have done is compete for those jobs and drive the wages down, while the supposed savings are really being kept as employer profits instead of being passed on to the consumer.
"Can't do" is a leftist attitude.

I've always done those jobs myself. I live on a small farmette (15 acres) that I live on besides working in my antique shop and flipping real estate. I clean my own toilets, work in my gardens and my fruit orchard which means pruning, harvesting fruit and canning, weed whacking, cutting my grass, work with insectides, shovel chicken and duck droppings etc...
If more people would not be above doing this kind of work we'd make it a lot less accomodating for illegal immigrants.
It's my feeling that if you are on welfare you should be doing these jobs.
I'm sick of giving handouts to people who don't work, and I'm tired of supporting people who come to this country illegally.
Anyway, that's all for today. I need to go pick beans and zucchini.

No I am not, because I have skills that allow me not to do those jobs. But all the people we are paying to sit at home and do nothing except collect welfare should be doing those jobs. When there is nobody on welfare (those who physically can't work is a different case) that can do these jobs, then we can talk about importing labor from Mexico or another country.

No. I don't care if the illegal aliens that do those jobs stay. The ones that I have a problem with are the ones that are drug dealers, gang members, and the ones that steal services from us taxpayers. Build the fence, put up razor wire and then kick all those out. The berry picking ones can stay as long as they aren't collecting welfare, food stamps, housing, and free medical care. Then they can go, too.

There are no job categories in the US that are not filled primarioy by American workers. Americans are a majority in every category.
PS I don't pick cotton either, but I am still against slavery as well as illegal immigration.

As far as I know, illegal immigrants are still doing them.
And in some communities, getting ID cards so they can open bank accounts and gain access to other community services.
I have to go back and look up that word "illegal" - seems the meaning has changed since the last time I used a dictionary

With the low unemployment rate I would say most Americans that want a job, have one. Still, illegal is illegal.

What is your point???
As I did most of those jobs (farm/orchard work, cutting grass, worked with insecticides, etc) when I was growing up, I soon learned that a good education was a way out of that situation.
So once again ....what is your point???
Mine is....WE DON'T WANT OR NEED ILLEGAL ALIENS IN THIS COUNTRY!!!!!
