Welcome to the club. Few people know the difference between fear and respect, particularly in schools. I suggest you lay low and avoid jerks. Show respect regardless of what others do will get you a lot farther than demanding it anyway. Unfortunately no matter how you go about it, real respect will take time to develop. There are no quick fixes.
You *could* put in a request for a series of assemblies for general respect and better treatment of others. I'm not sure you will get very far with it and that will still take time and it will most likely stir up real A$$holes in the process, but if that is really what you want then the time and effort it takes shouldn't matter.

Sometimes when you're in school, there's a lot of immaturity everywhere and getting the respect of kids who don't even know anything about respect can be hard.
Maintain assertion if someone is bullying you but also function the way you'd like to be treated.

You can't expect or force people to respect you automatically.Respect is earned, not given. If you really want others to respect you in a good way, then try to do positive things.

my friend had the same problem and i helped her with it.first if you want to be respected you have to give respect if you give respect then here is the real deal you are not going to get respect from everyone but in your school you might find someone there with the same problem and both of you can relate to one another

Treat yourself with the kind of respect that you expect from others. After a time, you'll discover that others may not like you or agree with you but they will respect you.

Truthfully, you cannot MAKE anyone do anything. However, you can be the best person you can be, seek out others who share your interests, and don't give up.
If you are in school, so many of the kids are immature and self absorbed/selfish, and they don't know how to respect others.

well welcome to the REAL WORLD this is a part of life that you're just going to have to accept i mean how do you think people treat me at school..........the girl with the black eyeliner who writes depressing poetry and goes to AFI concerts...........life is unfair and you just must understand this...............if you feel like people aren't respecting you than you could just be a jerk or a nerd or something like that............people respect people who either are too cool to go with the crowd or just look like everyone else...........as sad as this sounds it's true and something i put up with every time i go to school...............just stick with your friends and don't hang out with the people that don't "respect" you.................over time you'll learn to live with it.................
