Khodam,

You seem to have the stereo type attitude about how western (Americans I am sure is your main target) people think. I know middle eastern people from many countries, and there is an extreme hate and prejudice for Israel. I am friends with a Palestinian family that I love dearly, they are christian, and I know their neighbors from the West Bank whom are muslim-my point is that I am not in the dark about issues concerning that part of the world.
YES, Israel is not with out fault. Some of the things that have done by the army of Israel is awful. On the other hand the terrorist, suiicide attacks from the Palestinian people is horrid as well. This is not a mere land entitlement conflict-it is a war on faith-from the very beginning of Islam there has been issues with the Jewish people. It is also a game being played by many Arab nations, that secretly pay for suiicide bombers (young children to kill themselves in the name of their faith) The money is given to the families-often very poor families at that, and the funds come from rich cowards.

I wish for peace for the West Bank. I would love to see the day that Christians, Jews, and Muslims can live side by side and enjoy the bounty of peace.

I am sorry if my answer seems insulting at first. I do not wish you any disrespect. I just wanted you to observe the attitude of your own question. May God be with you. I am a christian that hopes for God's peace.

Given that the Jewish people have had a continuous presence in Israel for close on four thousand years, I'd say that's pretty 'real'.

If you knew your history, you would know that the term 'Palestinian' originally referred to Jews - because they were the majority in that area. That's why Mark Twain, returning from a trip to the area in the 19th century, reported: 'There are, apart from the Jews, just a few Arab nomads wandering the area'.

The 'Palestinian people' as we know them today, were originally Arabs from Egypt, Syria, Jordan; they only went to that area because the Jews were reviving it and transforming it from desert into a viable and beautiful place.

Israel is now the only democracy in the entire Middle East - you don't feel that's worthy of support?

If you don't, that really says a lot about you.

It's unclear what you mean by "real resident" of the Middle East, because the actual definition of the term refers to anyone who actually lives there.

Which would include anyone who lives in Israel, unless you don't consider Israel part of the Middle East.

Israel is a free and democratic society. The country was created by the United Nations. They have a right to exist where they are. If you don't agree, take your complaint to the UN.
The Israelites, Hebrews, Jews, occupied the land for thousands of years before muslims came along and enslaved everyone with their murderous excuse of a religion. Learn some history.

If history is right, and it usually is unless someone changes it to fit the moment, the children of Israel were born and bred there, then through persecution were forced to flee, now they have come back to claim what it theirs.

I don't agree with the method, but I do agree with their rights to get it back.

Besides, who said who the "real residents" of middle east were.

The Israelis have taken a patch of sand and made it into a productive and economically viable country . What have your "real residents " done besides creating havoc and turmoil

I think a lot of people in the west know EXACTLY why we support Israel. They are our friends, we fought to get their land back to them because they belong there, they suffered long and hard enough and the Holy Land belongs to them. We have tried to be fair to the Palistinians, they have been given land and given their freedom to govern themselves, only for them to to fight and kill each other and demand more from Israel. They are no longer worthy of our support or sympathy.

Some of us back the Palastinians, after all, they were kicked out of their homeland.

Unfortunatly, Israel isn't going anywhere, so learning to live together is the only option. And that takes concession from both sides. My hope is you guys can find some peace and cooperation. It's in both your best interest.

Isreal qualifies as a "real" resident.

Our support goes to keeping the region stable. If there was another way, we'd probably do that. This is about national interest. There's oil over there (if you haven't heard) and we need a lot of it. Keeping the region stable ensures we'll be able to get it.

So i assume I might desire to wager yet another united states of america. mmmm, Ecuador?
