on symbolic non-binding resolutions? Like making the Japanese 'apologize' for having 'sex slaves' in the WWII?!

But what about the resolution? Why are we wasting time and money on this particular one? Do none of you see how ludicrous it is?

They do what they are good at. Notice, since January there has been no attempt at tackling any of the problems that face the US, like securing our borders, stopping illegal immigration, Social Security.

Is this a rhetorical joke?
The Democrats have never to fear being accused of wasting money while Republicans are in office.
This President has increased the national debt by 500 billion dollars. Does that click in your brain at all?
How about a 500 billion care package for the Pharmacutical Companies for the next 5 years? How does that sound? How about a 'privatizing' social security for the illigal immigrants to have access to other peoples social security income in the next 30 years. hmmmm?
This Republican Administration George W. Bush/Cheney and supported by right wing Republicans will destroy the United States as we know it today!
Thanks

For the same reasons Republicans do.
Non-binding resolutions happen a dozen times every term. They are the way that Congress makes a formal political statement.
Look at the number of non-binding resolutions passed by each chamber of Congress over the past 30 years. It's not just Democrats that do it. It's a standard part of politics.

Because they understand that to be the leader of a country you shouldn't have to raise millions just to buy yourself into power!
And obviously you know nothing about the atrocities of the Japanese to everyone they conquered during WWII.

Why do Republicans waste air by breathing
And why do we still have to pay for the Africans selling their own people as slaves? It wasn't our doings and I have never owned a slave so why should I be punished for it?

For the same reason republicans waste time and money--- it suits their purposes at the moment... and perhaps their long range goals depending on how deeply they think.

Why the Democrats, all and I mean ALL politicians, parties and governments are expert at wasting time and money. It is not just a Dem. problem but a political system problem.
It is called "buying votes".

Because they are an important part of diplomacy and advance our foreign policy in a manner other than war.
Foreign policy does not have to equate to war.
