faith , let me tell you this for all the good it will do, judging by your undieing supoprt for them,, no mother is that strong, its human nature, the pain i seen in bens mums eyes, what i see in the maccanns ,i can not understand.
if they even looked for the child it would be something, if they admitted they were wrong it would be something, they have done nothing but put them selves in the spot light.
for christs sake gil wake up,, if you tried to take a pup away from its mother she would attack you.

and you ask me to empathise with them, no way ,, i dont let emotions get in the way of whats staring me in the face.
and to use your friend losing his mother, is not a good refrence point,, everybody knows that the greatest grief of all, is to lose your child.
its one thing to support the maccanns , but its asking to much to make a fool of your self in here with an answer like that, in defence of the maccanns

Ben needhams mum and his grandparents sacrifice everything and still continue their search for Ben ..

The grandparents remortgaged and every year they go back ..

I am appalled at the whole way the mccanns are and turned this sad event of a missing child into a huge pr exercise ..

Even after all these years when you see Ben Needham's mother interviewed you can see and feel her pain. I find it very upsetting to hear her talk even now. When I clicked onto that photo I find it almost disturbing and distasteful. How can they be smiling and laughing in such a way? I will never understand it.

words fail me..... i can't believe those people can stand there with those great big grins on their faces whilst the face of their missing daughter is paraded on a t shirt.. what is the matter with them? they are lapping up any and every bit of attention they can. just shows the kind of people they are...(the kind that leave their kids in an unlocked hotel room whilst they are stuffing their faces with food and booze in a restaurant).

There is no dignity from the Mcanns, i think they are to far up themselves to care what anyone thinks, i think they have lived there whole adult life like this, they are use to people bowing down to them because they are doctors, Gerry more so than kate, theres just no passion, and NO they are not hideing it well as the Pros say, if you have a broken heart you have a broken heart, you cant hide it, and why would you want to?

I agree with everything everyone is saying. And I still feel since day 1 that there is more to this then meets the eye. Something is definitely not right. Time will tell. They can jog but they can't run and hide forever.

I understand what you mean, but you need to understand that different people react differently. I know someone who lost his Mum. He was inconsolable & a weeping wreck in the confines of his home. However, at the funeral, he had dressed & seemed as if he was at a wedding. Honest. Only 'cos i know him personally & had been with him for hours that morning did i know the grief he was suffering. To anyone else he seemed all puffy eyed but as if he had had one too many and was actually smiling & waving to relatives. Its just that under stress people don't know how to react and truly the grief is so raw, they really couldn't care less of what people think of them at that time.

Just think of the public scrutiny Gerry & Kate McCann are going thru? They need it for their Madeleine but are under constant scrutiny. Would you & your life & family be able to stand it? Could you keep up the "normal" "accepted" expressions & not crack? They must dying to just home & cry their hearts out but have to face the public to keep her in the news...

We must also remember that during the time when Ben Needham went missing, the media did not play such a vital role. We didn't have the net & forums that are now being used to publicise these cases...Today's media is on another level altogether and the stress involved is phenomenal.
Can you empathise with them at least for a few moments?

Edit: Jack, if any one's blinded or blinkered its those who cannot see beyond the spite.

Edit: Justmeagain: There cannot be a comparison between 2 cases spread across so many years. Don't empathise if you can't...your choice. But if can't see the misery in Kate's face, well then, i'm not the blind one.

The McCanns have no interest whatsoever in their "missing" child, all they are concerned about is the money they are making from caring, gullible people. I only hope that they haven't forgotten, " What goes around comes around "

I totally agree with what youre saying.
I know I shouldnt judge but people have been more upset about losing a budgie than these pair appear to be about their child.
I really dont get it

They really don't seem to have any concern for Madeleine at all.
