I appreciate my upbringing by my parents. They never had a day where we went without-food, clothes, shelter. Even in the very worst times we were always provided for. At what ever the cost. Did I have a perfect child hood, no, I think it is a rarity that someone does. I learned from the good and bad. I learned to never do the things to my children that hurt me emotionally when I was a child. I try to be fair in the upbringing, and NEVER play favorites. I also make sure the good things, traditions etc., are also passed on to my kids.

I am so grateful to my parents. They loved each other enormously. They never fought - at least I didn't see them - they were the first to admit that they weren't perfect and made mistakes but they were pretty darned close as far as I could see.

They didn't have a lot of money and we didn't get all the latest toys but when we needed something, we got it. We played games as a family, we were surrounded by love and by books, we got read to.

We had a strict upbringing, there were rules for everything but that prepared us to live within the law as we got older. Because they were the bosses and we did as we were told or there was a definite punishment that was carried out (usually grounding or loss of a privilege), we learnt that we couldn't expect to get our own way in the big wide world.

They were always together as much as they could be. They didn't drink, they didn't smoke, they didn't and we weren't allowed to swear - or even speak slang and there's a lot of that in the North East. Dad didn't go out with the lads leaving us and Mam in the house. His holidays were spent with us going round the area and I grew up thinking of all this as normal.

My parents were very good to me, but they believe in aythority and propaganda too much - but mum, look at all these reports, weed reduces the chance of getting cancer by thirty percent - DRUGSSSSSS no son, they are wrong, I know I drink alcohol which is much more dangerous but you should respect fascist laws that take away peoples rights.

They heped me get through school, and I was very priveliged to have them

I think I appreciate my parents more than most teens would...

That's why I take care of my beloved mum now, she's paralyzed... I know how much she suffered when I'm young...
As for my dad, I try my best to please him. ^_^

I hope my answer could make it up to you.
