My mom wants me to delete some old cartoons before I save them to a DVD disc in September. How do you hide the folder, I don't mean hidden in another folder that is shown.

Right click the folder and go to properties. Select the hidden checkbox and click OK. The folder should disappear. If it doesnt, it will be transparent. If it is transparent or to see your folder again, open another folder or go to windows explorer by right clicking the start button and selecting explore. Select tools and folder options, select the View tab. Under "hidden files and folders" select the radio button the applies to what you want to do, either hide hidden folders or show hidden folders. click ok out.

go to cmdline, click 'start', then 'run' then type cmd and hit enter

make sure you are in the directory above the directory you want to hide... type cd pathtodirabovemyfolder

then type
attrib +s +h nameofmyhiddendirectory
if the folder name has spaces in it use quotes "name of my hidden directory"

This only works if 'hide protected operating system folders" is ticked, which it is by default.

Right click on the folder's icon, then left click on "sharing and security..." and then in that window check the box marked "Make this folder private"
