A severe lack of baskets in the 90's led to the renaming of this as 'half a chicken portion'

We used to stop at a restaurant on the way home all the time for Chicken in a basket, it was brilliant, this was the 70's and 80's though. did see a revival of it when on holiday in a hilton hotel recently though not quite the same but a blast from the past.

We still have it around, you just need to look for it. We have this snack stand called "Rocket J's" He has a huge WWII 500LB Bomb on the top of his restaurant painted bright red We have this other place called "Onion Flats" the place looks like its right out of a 1955 black and white movie, they have ALL those o'l great eats on the menu board but "Rocket" still has the BEST C.I.B around and his Whole Belly fried clams are to DIE for. If you want to know where the BEST food is, ask a Police Officer. The BEST chicken in the whole world though is at "Gus' Red Hots" in Plattsburg NY He serves Chicken wings in Garlic butter and baby, you havent EATEN FOOD until you have those!!!

the way they pack the chickens in to sheds.they now call it in pubs 4 chickens in a basket.
