Boris makes me laugh, but I wouldn't vote for him any more than I'd vote for any other comedian - that is what he is, right?

I find it very hard to take him seriously.

Obviously the man must be intelligent and as he has earned, I believe, a lot of money, somewhere under the mop of hair, must be a brain. But should a buffoon be a mayor?

Boris is everything that the new British regime needs to be. He's smart (studied at oxbridge) and is hilariously funny. Many people would rather see him standing on his soapbox than someone like Ken Livingstone
Boris for Mayor !!!

I'd vote for anybody but (Red) Ken Livingston. Londoners are the biggest fools in British history. Mrs Thatcher, whom I did not like, had to abolish the old GLC (Greater London Council) simple to get rid of Ken Livingston. She had to get rid of him because he held Government to ransom, he was not answerable to anybody but himself, he wasted millions of pounds on parties and celebrations but tried to ban St Georges Day. He had destroyed the road networks, by digging holes everywhere and using that as an excuse to drive up the fares on public transport. Ken Livingston had taken the cheapest public transport in the world and turned it around to become the most expensive. He had too many buses on the road, which created more congestion. Land rates were continuously increased well above inflation. Now look at today's Ken Livingston. He is not answerable to anybody but himself ( his being cleared of anti-sematism, being racist, being offensive and bringing the Mayors Office, as well as the Labour Party into repute is evidence enough). He is as protected now as he was in the 1970s, possibly more now. Today, we have roads dug up all over London, bus lanes everywhere and extra buses. This is what is creating the congestion, not the number of vehicles. Bus lanes have been used to take away lanes in the road thus bottle necking the traffic. Traffic light s have been set to change at intervals of as little as 8 seconds. Livingston has recreated the network and uses it to justify a "Road Tax" (Congestion Charge). He has, once again, made London's public transport the most expensive in the world. As for Council Tax, he's done the same as he did in the 70s. Council Tax in London is rising at well over double the rate of inflation, every year. What do we pay for, wild parties and fireworks for every minority group, including the Scots, but not a penny for the English to celebrate St Georges Day. Boris may be a joker but at least he is honest enough to make that clear to the voters. A honest politician is guaranteed my vote, even if he can't juggle LOL I'll vote for Boris as Livingston has to go!

Killing London trade, driving traffic around the oustide so just shifting the problem.

Now I hear that the Met are using the cameras in the fight against terror.

I like Boris too. I am, however not a Londoner, so it does not effect me: but if I were, he would have to convince me that he was going to stop acting like a prat and get some bona credibility among the people that matter - mainstream British Public.

The sad thing is that people would vote for him, just as many voted for Ken or H.Angus the Monkey. Anyone who votes for the celebrity rather than their policies deserves the bad (local) government they get.
