Hyosungs are made in S. Korea. At least they were the last time I checked.
S. Korea isn't part of China. It's a small democracy with high quality manufacturing capablilities. They are competetive in the top end cell phone and lcd monitor/TV market and in the budget end car market. They are now producing a couple of 650 Vtwin bikes that are largely inspired by the SV650. They are built by the same factories and assembly lines that make 90 percent of the SV650. Even though the Hyosung 650 bikes are only a few years old, Hyosung has been making good quality smaller bikes for many years - just not exported much to the US, where bikes under 600cc are a niche market.
They seem like a good deal. I might have bought one if I had a dealer close by.

I haven't heard anything bad about the newer sports bikes or cruisers yet. The reputable bike shop up the street from me sells the Hyusong (sorry if I spelled it wrong). It looks almost like a Suzuki SV650. I sometimes see them or the road but have never asked the rider his/her opinion. Since I have such hatred for those pocket bikes made there, I recomend you should continue your research on these Chinese made products.

Don't really know what your asking but China is making motorcycles like Hyosung and "UM" but I don't know a whole lot about them. Me, I'm sticking with the Japanese ones and just going to see how these Chinese ones stack up over the next couple years...

If you can wait a few years, Harley Davidson is said to be opening a plant in China, to sell to motorcycles to the Chinese, but not for export to the US.

The Hyosung motorcycles are taking the world by storm, as they are so affordable. But like everything else, you get what you pay for.
