I have seen a two-headed sunflower, but not a three-headed one.

A picture would be nice. I've been trying to find images of three-headed sunflowers, but can't find any that doesn't use trick photography.

After viewing over 20 pages of sunflower images, all I could find is this image using "a new mirror effect function":

I do love my sunflowers and boy do they love to hybridize. I grow the mammoth single headed, the knee high multi-flowered and everything in between. It's the plants that volunteer from these seeds the next year that get interesting. I've had 10 foot plants with one 2" flower and two footers with 10" flowers and every other possible combination. That is so wrong. I mean hitting the head repetitively is very humiliating and physically damaging. It is punishable by law. Plus the problem caused by the kid is not that big (even if it's big, the kid doesn't have any idea about it, and hitting the head is still unnecessary). I say if this happens again, take a video of it :D or ask the kid about it. Then complain to the authorities together with the kid.

I had one that was kinda 'back-to-back' and they were lovely. Poor thing was skidsofrenic - which way to face the sun!

I took a picture but do not know how to upload it onto here. Imagine two flowers with a stem jammed between them.

They are usually two headed sunflowers but perhaps two seeds were planted in the same soil.

There are varieties that have smaller flowers and many of them. Autumn Beauty is one of this type that I grow that has really pretty flowers, in many warm colors and some patterns of color. Lovely for large casual bouquets... though they drop yellow pollen on the table.

Yes! Just noticed one this morning, it has about 6 flowers growing and the plant itself is about 7 feet tall.
