Bibi ka Maqbara is an imitation of the Taj Mahal. It is in Aurangabad,Maharashtra.

It was built by Prince Azam Shah, son of Emperor Aurangzeb, in the late 17th century as a loving tribute to his mother, Dilras Bano Begam. The monument's name translates literally to 'Tomb of the Lady', but has earned the nickname 'poor man’s Taj' because it was made to rival the Taj Mahal. It is situated in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The tomb in itself represents the transition from the ostentatious architecture of Akbar and Shah Jahan to the simple architecture of the Later Mughals. The comparision to the Taj Mahal has resulted in a general ignorance of the monument

Bibi Ka Makbara was built in 1679 by Moghul Emperor Aurangzeb's son as a tribute to his mother Rabia. Its a marble and lime stone structure with big central dome, four smaller domes and surrounded by four minarets. It bears a strong resemblance to the Taj Mahal, but lacks the grandeur.

Hi Muthu,

Bibi ka Maqbara is an imitation of the Taj Mahal.

Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal, in Agra, in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz. His son Aurangzeb, who overthrew him, built the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara as a mausoleum to his wife Rabia-ud-Durrani.

Well... Taj Mahal is in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Its a lovely beautiful tourist place, i went last december. It was made by Shah Jahan, for his beloved wife. Aurangzeb was Shah Jahan's son. Aurangzeb kept his father imprisoned in Agra Fort, from where you can see the Taj Mahal. Inside the Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan was buried alongside his wife by his son, Aurangzeb.

His son Aurangzeb made a tomb for his wife too,Rabia-ud-Durrani, which is the imitation of the taj mahal, its called bibi ka makbara, its in aurangabad, maharashta, india.

I thought it was Shahjehan's wife.

There are plenty of shops there, will be able to sell you an imitation, maybe cheap at that...unless you're planning on buying the real one...for your sweetheart.
