I have got two video cards 8800 GTX-SLI. I have been running windows XP. Where can I download direct X 10 version? (i.e.: my experience is…: I hate vista OS, because it does not support two 8800GTX SLI cards at same time. It (the vista support video driver) was support single 8800 GTX video card under VISTA OS. So, I have roll-back windows XP.)
In short, I have two video card and running windows XP and need running direct X 10 game(i.e.: lost_planet_dx10.exe). Currently, I would like to enjoy DX10 games… Where can I download DX10?

As of right now the only O.S. that supports DX10 is Windows Vista. I do not see why your board does not support two Video cards In SLI even if they are DX9. If it is because of the game requires DX10, then i am thinking this game was made for Vista only.

DirectX 10 is only for Vista

Links form Microsoft concerning DirectX10

Will DirectX 10 be available for Windows XP? link

Will DirectX 10 be available for Windows XP?

No. Windows Vista, which has DirectX 10, includes an updated DirectX runtime based on the runtime in Windows XP SP2 (DirectX 9.0c) with changes to work with the new Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) and the new audio driver stack, and with other updates in the operating system. In addition to Direct3D 9, Windows Vista supports two new interfaces when the correct video hardware and drivers are present: Direct3D9Ex and Direct3D10.

Since these new interfaces rely on the WDDM technology, they will never be available on earlier versions of Windows. All the other changes made to DirectX technologies for Windows Vista are also specific to the new version of Windows. The name DirectX 10 is misleading in that many technologies shipping in the DirectX SDK (XACT, XINPUT, D3DX) are not encompassed by this version number. So, referring to the version number of the DirectX runtime as a whole has lost much of its meaning, even for 9.0c. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool (DXdiag.exe) on Windows Vista does report DirectX 10, but this really only refers to Direct3D 10.

Hope this helps

Good Luck.

ok....XP does not support dx10

vista will become a forced upgrade for gamers when they begin to develop dx10 games in early 08. Don't worry about it now as nothing supports dx10 yet.

but in order to use it later you will at least have to run a dual-boot set-up with vista (directx10)
