i think i might be going insane! i haven't had a banana in my house for awhile but for some reason i can smell them. can anyone else?

Oh man dont worry you're not crazy. Try eating a banana, it might go away. This happens to me all the time, I smell or taste things, out of nowhere. My friends think I'm crazy but I've come to find that it's only because I'm unconsciously craving that food.

We all remember the tastes of foods that we like to eat. If we miss a particular item of food, we can stimulate our mind to think about it and at times even salivate by visualising the sight of it or may be its smell.
I guess you should not think about bananas too much and try to get some for yourself. If you eat too many bananas for a week or so then your craving for these is likely to go down and you may not think about them anymore. This should help you get over this problem.
I think you are perfectly normal

It's funny but the instant I read the word 'bananas' I swear I smelled them! It must be one of those 'suggestive' things that scientists are always talking about. Like eating an apple and smelling an onion and you taste onion instead? Or expecting soda and you get tea and it tastes awful? I'm rambling. Excuse me, I'm going to eat a banana..

Wow, should I join the record of crazies who really answered this query lol? Um.... No my carpet doesn't smell like bananas... As a minimum no longer but but my banana pudding smells remarkable.

No, I can't smell bananas. But I think the dog just farted. That's the only thing I can smell.

no you're not going insane,sometimes things like that happen to us too,whether we smell bananas or something else.so the only thing you can do is...just try to let it pass & be over. remember you're not alone,dou!
