Genetically modified food/crops.

It is crops engineered to carry genes to increase crop yield, or for human benefits.
Eg.
1. Flavr Savr tomatoes that can ripe for a longer time. Longer shelf life.
2. Golden Rice, engineered to contain Vitamin A
3. Pest resistant plants, that carries toxin to kill pest, such as Bt toxin.
4. Herbicide resistant plants, that do not die when the farm is sprayed with herbicide to kill weeds.

Others:
1. Transgenic animals, for cows, more meat, and sheeps for better quality wool.
2. Fast growing Atlantic salmon, which can reach a market in 14 months or less, one quarter to one half the normal time.

Genetically Modified crops. those plants of economic importance whose genetic makeup have been altered by introducing new genes of of desirable traits from other organisms/species . usually these alterations make the plant resistant to diseases, pests and harsh or extreme environmental conditions, increase yield and lower cost of production. corn and rice are 2 examples.

might desire to be financial necessity. I grew up purely some miles removed from a huge Amish community in northern Indiana. My brother bought a shipment van and used to offer rides to Amish adult men who had to pass to paintings in "English" factories to make ends meet -- because of the fact they could no longer make adequate money in simple terms tending their farms anymore. So the only project i can think of of is that the Amish are doing the comparable project right here -- taking benefit of modern-day technologies to advance greater sturdy vegetation and thereby make ends meet, without attempting to compromise their suggestions too plenty. purely a guess, yet there you pass.
