You do have to drink water but I always drank 1 litre and then they couldn't see what was going on and asked me to half empty my bladder! That is so hard! Drink at least 5-600ml and you'll be fine. And remember to pee before you start drinking otherwise you'll need to go again really again.

When I got my ultrasounds I was instructed to drink a ton of water also. But once I got on the "ultrasound table" the ultrasound tech was like "Wow, you may want to empty your bladder I see it's really full"...then I wished I wouldn't have drank the water the told me to drink in the beginning. But then again use your better judgment would you rather do to much, or not enough?

i dont think they alway tell you to but i know they get a better look at the baby if you have something in your bladder, (but not too full because sometimes it blocks the view) the 13 week ultrasound I had once they couldn't get a good view so they went in for an internal ultrasound (but they were looking for a problem with me) so I wouldn't be too concerned about drinking too much.

ultrasounds are fun when it comes to drinking water
if you donot drink the watre you will not see the baby clear enough
evrey time you have a aultrasound they reccomend that you drink water so that you can see your baby proparly
this is the same procedure each time and do as the doctor tells
this is for your baby and yourself
good luck and have fun

You should have water this time also , because when they do ultrasound , they want your bladder to be full (this is the reason they make u have lots of fluid), this helps them in diagnose the things better during ultrasound.
I hope this will help

Its better to go with a full bladder just incase.
I went for my 12th week with full bladder and they did half the scan then told me to go empty cos then the baby moves around more afterwards. Having a full bladder helps the scan work better at the earlier weeks, by allowing them to see the baby more clearly.

Well it is hot out,so why don't you just drink to water. If you need to do it for the ultrasound then it is already done,If you didn't,well you just stayed well hydrated.

Just to be safe you should drink 1 liter of water. I heard something that liquid in your stomach helps sooth it when the waves go through your body
