Ladies and Gents . . . having a book on the best-seller list does not mean you are getting rich. A book merely needs to sell well compared to its competion in order to make the best-seller list.

He and Al Gore invented the Internet in the 70s. Made lots of money off it.

Well, he was an attorney before becoming a politician, and has a book on the New York Times Bestseller list.
As for campaign contributions, he took a different approach and collected lots of small donations, rather than a few big ones, which allowed him to tap into repeat donations.
