Under the new Australian "Anti-Terrorism Laws" a person can be questioned for a maximum of 24 hours but can be detained indefinitely without charge if there is suspicion of involvement in terrorist activity. So if they don't question the suspect, that person can be detained indefinitely.

It depends on the country and the state/province, and whether you mean before trial, or before arraignment and bail hearing.

In the US, it's either 48 or 72 hours (I need to check to be sure whether there are any variables that alter this).

24 to 72 hours - depends, no longer unless charged at whcih time he/she gets arrainged.
If he is a POW, whatever the USCMJ decided.

If we want Justice, then we have to be Just.
