He can still run that kind of business while in prison. Do you think its better to have him out restricted at home but make him pay more with $ ( I am talking like 1 million) and then make him do some kind of charity work for animals? What do you think?

Do you realize what kind of damage it will do to him if he's thrown in jail? Already he's lost his NFL career and the $millions that came with it, along with endorsement deals with Nike and whatever other commercial marketability he might have had.
I guess the deed's been done and the self-destruction has been done already.
Vick's been exposed to too many people already as an uncompassionate punk and people do not want to pay money to see dog-torturers to play football. End of story.
As for running his enterprise in jail: I doubt it. He's been shut down.
If he had the gumption to re-create his enterprise of torturing animals I'm sure he could run it behind prison walls but I doubt he could or would do it.

Paying fines means nothing to someone with the money that he has. The point of putting anyone in prison is to take away their freedom. Sure, he can run his business from prison prison is no cakewalk even for a celebrity like Vick if he is forced to spend years there.

Prison is a punishment to take away freedom. He can run a business like that in prison, but is about a 1% chance. Nothing is fun about prison and he has way to much money for a fine to make a difference.

I like that idea but he should also serve some time if all this is true. I think the laws for this crime are not strict enough and it's just terrible how some people treat animals. I'm not a treehugger but I love animals and will never understand how people could do such a act.

Yes, because you can't play NFL football while you're in jail. If you can't play NFL football, you can't make $20 million. So yes, I think it would be punishment.

Uh, yeah...His football career will be over and that is where the funding for the operation came from in the first place...His meal ticket would be gone...
