why cant I change my properties in mame games in vista?

I want to change my controller from keyboard to joypad and I could do it with xp but can't with vista?

Try to run MAME by changing the Compatibility. Right click on the mame icon and choose properties. Click the Compatibility tab and check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose windows XP.

i think of u might desire to purchase XP because of the fact it helps each and all the main substantial video games like FIFA, prefer for speed Carbon, GTA, Command n triumph over and so on. And u are conscious that Vista is the latest OS, befor that purely XP handles such form of video games.
