I know that fords are absolutely crap by experience and my advice is to never ever buy a ford KA especially a T reg 2000 one, Ok my car is 7 years old and has just clocked in at 71,000 miles but that really shouldent mean it has so much RUST! its absolutely covered and has been for the last two years that i have owned it. Other random things have also decided to break on me too, front speakers, power steering, suspension, radiator fan and finally an altinator, So really don't buy one unless like me you are fooled by its cute looks. I haven't even mentioned its speed, or lack of any speed, it is slower than cars with smaller engines than itself, it can quite easily be overtaken by a 1 litre engined car. and in high winds the car sways all over the motorway because of its weird shape it seams to catch every gust of wind. also the size of the its incredibly small boot too, it must be the smallest boot in any modern car,
Please tell me your views on the KA and if you have had problems?

Your Ka is basically a Fiesta in a different body. Fiestas are generally reliable, so your KA should be too. Unfortunately things do wear out on all cars the older they get the less reliable they become. Not sure why you should have so much rust though.... untreated scratches or stone chips will soon go rusty. I hope that your Ka has just gone through a bad patch as some cars seem to, and that everything will be OK from now on.

My wife had a T reg KA from new and it was okay until our son hit the kerb in it and from then on the power steering was crap and had to be replaced. Otherwise it was okay as a shopping trolly but my wife loved it so much she bought another one. She now has a 03 plate KA 1.3 Collection, whch is far better than the old car - no trouble to date.

It has gained reputation to have a bit of a feminine image to it, but a lot of small cars do tend to have the same problem. Maybe its because they tend to be the sort of people that tend to buy them and drive them. I had a Ka as a cortuesy car whilst my old corsa was in the workshop, probably the worst car i've ever drove (but it was the MK1 rather than the Fiat 500 based MK2).

We had a Ka. My wife loved it. It didn't give us trouble, but it was getting old (W reg) and we came into some money. We P/ex ed it for a Ford Fusion, which we think is great, and has just passed its first MOT. Hope this helps.
