I mean you personally, what do you do when you hear a racial slur in a joke... or a joke about gays?

Or just a conversation you might overhear?

Do you take action, and stand up for what you know is right?

Sometimes I'll stick up for what I feel is right. I've learned that more often than not, it turns into a situation where you're having to consistantly defend yourself/others and it usually gets personal.

Sometimes I just shrug it off, not my problem. If I know the person, I'll talk to them about it in private. If I don't, I usually just frown at them and walk away.

I do know this, there may not be a whole heck of a lot I can do about the ignorant people who know better, but when I have kids one day....I'll make damn sure they don't act like that.

I most definitely speak up. I will not tolerate hateful/racist comments around me or my children. I tell them it what ways they are wrong in what they say and then tell them if they continue they will not have us in their lives and thats it- From my grandmother tha uses the 'N' word to the people that tell me my moms going to hell for being a lesbian. Though everyone is entitled to their own opinion, society has never benefitted fom hate and its frustrating that more people don't realize it and change.Though at times its akward I feel that staying silent is the same as encouraging it and that we should all do our part to do whatever we can to stop the behavior and train of thought. I feel sorry for the struggles of any group or person that is being treated with hatred and judgment. Best wishes!

You look very tactical and subsequently that provides you an benefit. a great sort of human beings on right here, spout off with the 1st ingredient that is composed of recommendations because of the fact they lack self-discipline and self administration. you do no longer or a minimum of that's how I choose you.

U gotta know when its all for fun and games or if its real hate.

Take shows like Mind of Mencia and Dave Chappelle they are racial all the time but they are just trying to have fun.

If u can't distinguish between the two then u'll never know were the true hate is.

I generally ask isn't there something else to talk about. I'm have better things to do than sit around hating people:

But if they are politicians then they are fair game. All politican are fair game! White, black hispanic, gay, bi, lesbian it makes no difference they are politicans they are fair game.

Um, well, "right" is subjective and relative to each person, what is "right" to you, may not be "right" for the next person. People are entitled to their beliefs and opinions regardless of how I choose to feel about them, which may not be the case for you. It's not my job (or duty) to "correct" people, and again, it may be your job, but it's not mine.
