Thats what I would do also is just tell him you just noticed it and someone must of hit you in a parking lot and you didn't see it. Otherwise to get it done professionally its gonna be $300 - $500 because of the stupid blending they have to do. Might even be more depending on your car color, mine was silver/aluminum.

halfords have started doing minor repairs like this.

An alterntaive is a bodyshop but they are usually pretty busy and may not do the work for a while,

try halfords first. if that fails let me know and I will put you in contact with some people who will come to you for paint work and plastic bumper repairs

I doubt if you could cover it up quickly so he doesn't notice. You've got two choices, seems to me. Either own up and take what's coming (everybody has a bump now and then, I doubt dad will go ballistic) or, of course, it could have happened when you were parked . . .

Personally, I'd tell the truth.

dont know where to take it but ask them to just buff the scuff itll probly come right out.a buffer kinda looks like a sander.however if your missing paint theyll want to repaint the whole pannell.thats expensive and takes at least a day.if it was me id just buff it and play dumb to the missing paint whene ur dad realizes.good thing my girl freinds dad owns a paint and body shop

Go to the local multi-storey car park. There are usually lots of adverts for companies that do small repairs. Possibly because this is where most small dings happen.

Look up the number of your local SMART repair centre. I don't think Halfords do bodywork repairs (I could be wrong).

The best course of action is to tell your dad before he finds out himself. Honesty is the best policy. Taking responsibility for your actions is a great part of becoming an adult. Your father may be upset but he will be happy that your honest and trust him enough to tell him. I know it's hard but it's also the right thing to do. It may not be as bad as you think. Accidents happen and this is why they call them accidents. But I would definitely tell him. By being honest with your dad shows respect and you need to give it to get it. Even when it's something that's hard to do. Take care.

I agree with skip1960. Just tell the truth, why lie. It happened and that's all there is to it. If you lie and your Dad finds out, that will cost you more than the accident. It will cost you his trust. It's not worth it. Try to be adult about it. You did it, you'll fix it. So there's not a problem. good luck

I think halfords will be too expensive. Take it to your local garage/body repairer, they will advisee you, and if you are at the wrong place they will advise you where else you can go.

Honesty is always the best policy. Not to mention if you hit someones car or they hit yours you have to give a copy of the police report to the insurance company or they can cancel your policy. Why not be honest and make sure it gets fixed properly.
