What about the western bean things in the can?

The "tin can" as it was once so obviously called, is no longer tin but, plastic, coated aluminum, resin and coated tin. It was once unhealthy to eat out of the can due to the spoon or fork scraping the sides and bringing small but, sharp particles of the can or, tin into the system.
Now, however, there is no fear of this happening and you may, if you want, eat out of the can however this is considered impolite and ill mannered.

At one time G.I.'s were eating out of these tin cans for years on the battlefield.

It is safe and taste better as a sandwich, what can I say, I like cold beans!

What do they taste like depends on what kind of Beans you get, silly!

of course. they're great dry and boiled also. kind of gritty and filling because they are almost pure vegetable protein. a little dry tasting. i'm sure you've had them. c'mon, you had to have! if not, taste! i suggest soy beans, kidney, black beans.

Yes it's safe, we do it camping.
As far as taste, it's taste just like the picture on the can.
sometimes burned.

it's like old school military-style or like camping. just don't try to stick em in the fridge and go back to them...i think that's not safe.
