The following players have scored 6 fours in an over in test cricket:
1) S.M.Patil of India against R.J.D. Willis of England
in the Test match between England and India
played at Manchester in 1982.
2) C.H. Gayle of West Indies against M.J.Hoggard of
England in the test match between West Indies
and England played at the Oval in 2004.
While the over in which S.M.Patil scored 6 fours consisted
of 7 balls (1 No ball), the over in which C.H. Gayle scored
6 fours consisted only 6 balls.
The only player to score 6 fours in an over in ODI is
G.C. Smith of South Africa against Naved-ul-Hassan of Pakistan in the ODI match played between South Africa and Pakistan played at Cennturion in 1993-94. However the over in which he hit 6 fours consisted of 10 balls as there were wides and no balls in that over..
