Why is it that you can't wear black nail polish, or black clothing without being called "emo"? It really annoys me that people can be so stupid. There is no other colour that is stereotyped like this. Why black? I can't wear anything black without people calling me "emo", regardless of the fact that they know that I am a happy, outgoing and bright person? Why do people think that everyone has to fit into the confines of a certain stereotype or group?

I wear black all the time & have never been called EMO in mylife. I wear black stylishly. NMy clothes have no rips in them. I do not wear stripey socks. I have a normal haircut...

I'm not sure if it's the style of clothes that are getting your comments as opposed to the colour...

And as for black nailpolish - It's is SOOOOO high fashion at the moment it is nowhere near being EMO. Try the chanel black noir polish. It's sold out everywhere in the world. And it's $50 a bottle!

Can any Emo you know afford $50 for nailpolish? No becasue they're too busy being depressed weirdo's...

You are the world's first happy emo! Go on Good Morning America. Perhaps you can convert all the other emos in the world to be "happy, outgoing and bright" just like you.

I wear black all the time and I get nothing but great comments, so evidently it's the people you've chosen to surround yourself with that makes you feel it's such taboo to wear black. Black has long been thought of as mystifying, so continue to let them try and figure you out. It's a good thing!

human beings stereotype base on worry, jealousy, and in simple terms undeniable stupidity. they are are stereotypes for all varieties of females and adult men in each and every race. the base line is to no longer hear and base your information on one damaging man or woman or adventure. And Jasmine please don't have self belief the guy that pronounced 70% black females are unmarried. He had racist and generalized links and that they've been stereotypical too. The quantity is around 40% and that they in many cases do no longer count quantity black females that are in a lengthy term relationships(With black, white, asian, and so on adult men),divorced, widowed, are gay and in simple terms undeniable prefer to be unmarried for distinctive quantities of reason.

because most people are stupid and out to make themselves feel better about themselves by putting you down. luckily, my black phase was before the term "emo" came into being, and now that i'm not in high school anymore, no one says crap like that.
just keep being yourself and surrounding yourself with people that don't label other people.

I was just saying something similar about people thinking I am a goth even though I am not (again, nothing wrong with being a goth...)
People will think what they think. Nothing you do can change that. We are not here to please strangers (unless you`re a hooker), be happy and confident with who you are. Period.
