Technically you can give your child any name and spelling you want. Just be prepared for years of mispronuctiations and comments that you misspelled your childs name. I have a Jena (Jenna) who gets called Gina and a Reyna that gets said right but never written right. I didn't think either of these names were that odd until society got ahold of them. So perhaps you may want to tone down your spelling if you don't have a thick skin.

i think the parents who want to name there kids those sort of messed up made up names should sport the names themselves for a few months and when they are tired of the looks and explaining the names to everyone they meet they will rethink burdening their kids with these whackado names.
there is nothing wrong with spelling names how they are supposed to be spelled. take creative liberty with a middle name if anything. nobody really cares about the middle name.

It is only okay if the name is nickname proof. Also if it is not so long and convoluted that even you would have a hard time remembering the spelling. Here are my kids names as seen on their birth certificates. First my son full name is and ita a doozy it is although they are both long names but simply spelt. Cain Cian Isaac Iceman Angel Anubis Abramovitz and now my daughters name which is Caia Circe Io Isis Akasha Aura Abramovitz. Although theeir full names are long thay are not overly hard to spell feel free to use one of these names or here is a name which i believe means doeor to heaven or something like that "Janua Caeli' Caeli is a very pretty name by its self and not all that hard to spell.

No, causes confusion and life long spelling difficulties. Stick with something more practical, don`t subject ur offspring to having always correcting their name spelling just because u want it to be different.

Only you can decide if it's okay. Personally, I think it's ridiculous. Alyanna is fine, Ahlyawna is dreadful. It has lot of meaningless extra bulk that has nothing to do with pronunciation and just makes it look alien. It depends, though. Jennifer to Ginnifer is fine. Jennifer to Gennypher or Junefyr is not.

It is okay, as long as it's within reason. You should consider that in future this will affect how people pronounce your child's name and then of course there's the whole thing of your child learning to spell his or her name when they learn to write.
I think Reyshard is very cool, as it's keeping with the correct pronunciation of the name. But Ahlyawna you may want to reconsider. Alyanna is pronounced Ali-anna (hope I'm correct) and Ahlyawna could come out totally different e.g. Ahl-yawn-a. We don't all see things in the same perspective.
You've chosen great names, though. All the best.

Parents who give their children names with complicated spellings or pronunciations are being slefish.
It's a horrible idea and it causes so much trouble for the poor kids!!!

I think there is such a thing as going too far with weird spellings but in some places like Ireland where Niamh is pronounced NEEV which is a very pretty name, it is not out of the ordinary. I love the name Lily but when I have a daughter I will call her Lily spelt Lilee. Its still easy to read and pronounce. I think people might have a problem with the pronounciation of Ahlyawna but Reyshard is cool.

I think it's a good idea to be a little creative with your child's name. I love names with double letters for some reason and I like to change the spelling around, too.
In the end it is your (and your partner, if present) decision..
Good luck..
