I ask because Bollywood is a product of North India, and Bharatnatyam originiated in South India. Can they be combined?

There are few hindi movies with Bharatnatyam and Kathakali in it. I am never a cienema fan so can not tell you names clearly. Most probably SARGAM has Bharatnatyam in it.

A lot of movies used to have Bharatnatyam dances up to the 70's, but you don't see them in Hindi movies anymore. Vijayanthimala, Hema Malini, Jaya Prada, Sridevi and a few others did Bharatnatyam in quite a few movies.

While the modern bollywood movies do not have Bharat Natyam,many old Bollywood movies had Bharatnatyam.

there are few movies in which this bharatnatyam has been included.
i mean nowadays it is less but before there used to be.
now bollywood is doing everything which is on the western side.anyways keep rockin!!!

no there is no brat natayam in bollywood,i say this as a fan of bollywood movies from the south of india.And for a support for my answer, bharat natayam is considered to be an exagerated dance form, now a days songs are fast and carry lot of energy,so bharat natayam is not used in bolly songs.

well now a days it is pretty less but yes i have seen bharatnatyam dance by meenakshi sheshadri
