Okay I LUV my mom. She is my best friend. I even love her more then my Dad (we dont really get along). When she is around i tend to slack off. Not doind chorses, not wearing my retainers, not brushing my teeth 3 times a day, not taking my medicene. Then she left for 1 weekend & i was home w/ my dad. All of the sudden for no reason, I was doing EVERYTHING on my own. All the stuff I listed, i did on my own consistently. Y am I like this??

It is called growing up and everyone does it. It is amazing how independent we cqan get when we don't have a parent to push us.

Maybe your mom gives you too much slack and freedom and your afraid your dad wont be the same so you tend to do those things to not find out if cares if you brush your teeth or do your chores and mainly its because most dads don't do house work and stuff like that but moms do. so basically your taking your moms place for the time shes gone

your "mom" is your friend and not your mom. You did this because you know what the right thing to do is, but your mom is an enabler. If you want to be friends with your mom ,fine. but know where to draw the line, look at Lindsey Lohan and her mom as a example. Her mom wants to be a friend and not a mom so she lets her daughter do as she pleases to be a friend so she will be liked.And she is too old to dress like that she looks nasty. But as far as your dad goes, do you not get along with him because he tells you what to do(being a parent)? Or do you just want to be more grown that you are supposed to be?

Well you dont love her enough..........bcoz if you really love her you will do your best to make her happy. You will always think of the things that will make life easier for her.......now as per your description of the things that you do when she's around that is the typical action of a spoiled brat somebody that is too spoiled and tends to make other peoples life miserable. I cant blame your mom for tolerating you coz thats normal of mothers. too much love to give notwithstanding the pain she has to endure. If you really LOVE her think of her well being, make her happy by being responsible not only for yourself but also for your family. Doing small things for yourself will alleviate your mom from the burden and will surely make her very very happy and proud of herself for raising such a good child like you.

cuz wen u r wid ur mom u feel u r under sumone's protection n u feel u r still a kid....u want sum1 to care for u,scold u.tell u to do everything....but wen u have no one around u feel d responsibility on ur shoulders..

You are used to, and like, mom staying on your butt. Grow up some and show mommy you can do it yourself. It will move your relationship to new levels when you can help yourself and mom.
