I'm a 17 year old African-American female approaching my last year in high school. My hair is black n stops n the middle of my back. I never cut my hair b4!! I wear it regular such as in ponytails, curled, or flat ironed. I need a new look, so wat hairstyles should I try? I also dress sorta regular n I shop at places such as Rainbow, Citi Trends, and It's Fashion. If i'm gonna get a new hair look, I need a new wardrobe look 2. Where should I shop that has resonable almost-grown (lol) looking clothing?

Suggestions: If you haven't colored your hair, try it. If you have try a highlight. Go with the contour of your face. If it's long keep your hair a little longer. There are HAIR magazines with color photos that will help you. Take a walk on the wild side and try a dress shop. One of the "one of kinds" this will give you the one and only, the new look and shhhh your secret. Many have the decorative purses and shoes too. A little pricier but their sales are wonderful. Go for classy, sheek and kewl. I'm Indian and love my heritage. African American style in her last year says BOLD. Have fun. It's going to go by so fast, so get clothes that are versitile that you wear to a game or go out. Because you'll go right from school to OUT a lot. Get a colorful hobo bag that is a little bigger so that you can carry a little make up bag to freshen up, body spray and gadgets. I noticed that scarves are being used around the waist or as headbands.. when in Florida and New York. Mary Janes in all colors are in and so are wearing heals with jeans. (oh I thought we lost that with the 80's) but you guys love it and I have to admit it is kind of cool seeing you guys redo our style. Do it your way whatever you do. You can't do anything to your hair that it won't grow back, but get something that says ITS ME. Ask your hairstylist to recommend something. If it's to bizarre tone it down a notch or two but go with the flow. Good luck..congrats

Get your hair trimmed and lowlighted. Use a light brown or chocolate brown.
I know of Cititrends but not the others. My suggestion would be to shop at a place that sells classy clothes. You're a senior now! The hood look ain't happenin for grown and sexy women!
Don't cut you're hair!!! You know it takes us FOREVA to get it long!
Good Luck!

First get a new hairdo and then go shopping for the clothes and stuff. You want to know how the clothes go with your new look before you buy.
