If you are traveling then you should know what is given to eat.

In low cost budget airlines you get nothing. In some airline you have to buy water also.

In other flights snax or lunch/diner depending on travel hour. Mostly north Indian or south indian dishes. Some time fruit juices. Tea and coffee. Breakfasts are normally good.

Generally the food served on Domestic Flights is catered by 5 star Hotels like the Taj or Oberoi Groups. Some Airlines have in house catering.
Depending on the time of the day, you'll be served a snack or a meal.
The Non Veg tray is almost always Continental, with a dinner roll, Chicken, or a Burger and some veggies in White Sauce or a Russian Salad and Juice, tea or coffee. The vegetarian platter is generally an Indian meal.
Airlines that do not serve meals, have stewardesses selling sandwiches, Spring Rolls and stuff like that.

It depend upon the timing of the flights. If you board the flight during morning time, breakfast will be served. If you board the flight during lunch or dinner time, llunch or dinner will be served. The food served will be vegetarian or non-vegetarian Indian Food.

However, no food will be served in low cost airlines.
