How about a nice day-trip..? If u buy them in advance, train-/ coach tickets are not so expensive. Maybe to a place u spent some time of ur childhood, but u have not been there for a long while, though it is not so far away.. (Like a castle, a museum, a village, a park, a theme park, some other sight or place ...) Take him there and so u can enjoy ur present, too.

Does he collect anything? Maybe something to add to the collection. Maybe a book if he's a reader. How about a gift certificate for a a nice restaurant, movie tickets. Does he have children? Offer to babysit for an evening so he and his wife can go out. Maybe a magazine subscription.

A pink gran piano or a peacock, oh a pink bike with a bell on like mine. That would be different for a 50 something man.

Just make sure you wrap it in something lacy, silky and sexy.
