A company emailed me asking what my services are and for my name. However, they did so using all capital letters. I asked why the screaming? To me using all capital letters is not very professional as it shows screaming.

Well, this person took defense to this and went off on me again using all capital letters. They told me how their company and website screens businesses in the Tampa Bay area for attitude, how quickly they respond and so on. They told me I lost their business including others and will add me to the black list.

Am I worried for nothing? My thinking is any company who uses all capital letters is not showing a professional attitude.Heck, this person even forgot to add periods where needed.

You are worried for nothing.

Sounds like spam or a phishing scheme. They were very unprofessional. Definitely never give them any information over email. They probably sell your info to spam mailers at the very least.

IMHO, using all caps is not that big of a deal. Even though we are told it is screaming, it is not. It is merely all caps. However, using upper and lower case makes documents easier to read, and any decent company would know that.

This was not a case of they forgot to put periods. It was a case of they were too ignorant of English business and writing protocols to know the difference. They were probably not even based in the USA.

In general, if I was seriously interested in doing business with that company, I would have asked for their name, address and telephone number so I could contact them. Usually jerky companies like that don't want you to have that real information because the more you know about them, the worse they look.

The whole thing smells like a scam to me, but I can't put my finger on exactly what the sender's strategy might be. Did you check out the company who sent the email to you? Is it a known business?

However, if someone sent me a fairly short email in all caps I wouldn't feel the need to correct them. It is generally bad manners to point out the mistakes of others, particularly when it is nothing of importance.

I have heard that certain people with vision problems need to use all caps in order to read the screen.

In any case, what's done is done and I wouldn't worry about it. It is doubtful that any type of "black list" that these people could put you on would have any effect on your business.

Probably some weirdo. I doubt that he or she has much power. Sounds like they don't know how the internet works. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds like a nut. Call him back up and ask him why he stopped taking his medications.
