My mom said that tampons will make the area stay open. Is this true? I'm thinking of using tampons for the first time, but really don't know how. I heard that u have to push it really in.

using a tampon is no big deal. just make show you relax and follow the instructions on the package. you might not do it right the first time but the second time will definately be easier. It also doesnt make the area stay open. my mom used to think that until she asked the doctor

Tampons can be really helpful, I know personally I usually have to use both a tampon and a pad because I have a heavy flow. One thing I learned trying to figure out how to use tampons is make sure not to try to use them right after you get out of the shower because you are clean down there and it will be harder to insert a tampon at that time. Wait until it's pretty heavy and then try.

I used to use tampons from the time I was 18 years old til about 7 years ago and had to stop because of a medical problem unrelated to the tampon itself.

I would not go back to tampons again. Pads work better for me.

yes you do it has to be in there far enough so that you cant feel it when you close your legs. its hard the first few times so keep trying and if it hurts to mch u arent at a good angle best tip i can give is angle it back towards the anus and softly push dont force it that really hurts

no not at all youd be surprised tampons are not big at all really and they really just slide right in no pain or anything you just put it in until your fingers are touching you and push the applicator in it will come out and u pull the applicator out and throw it away if you put it in correctly you will not even feel it

well my mom said that they are bad for your health, because it doesn't allow your body to fully flush the blood out. btw, there are instructions inside the box that will tell you everything. I never used tampons, and never will; pads work well!

the key is to RELAX...

dont tense up your muscles or else it might hurt you if its your first time.
