All i can tell you is be very careful doing that because some men when they know they got you that's when they start to act up. I have been married 3 times and all 3 did the same thing You give them your heart and they take advantage of it. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear and I'm sure most women will say something different . All i can say about the other women is, they haven't been hurt. It might take 1 year or 20 years but the odds are not in your favor. But it's your life and you love him deeply take the wall down, who knows this one might be the one who doesn't hurt you. Good luck

You know Im sorry you feel that way, Ive been married and i was cheated on and beaten and that never stops me, i guess i feel that if im dating and i want to move forward with them or get to know them they should get to know me, the past is the past, they are in my presence, a present at the moment that could turn out good or not, but i take it one day at a time and i dont judge them or hold them accountable for my past, and if you cant let your guard down you shouldnt be dating-

Well I personally know its hard to let the guard down due to experiances as well. so I cant answer when it would be time. Guess its when you can really trust and be open with an individual

personally, i give every new person that i'm dating the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason to think otherwise...then i clip em'. and as far as your doubts and what not goes, well that's a learned behavior for you. so it will take some time to get rid of it. try telling yourself every morning that you will not allow your past to take over for the entire day.

I am in the same boat. I guess the best thing to do is just take it one day at a time.

I gave similar advice to another questioner, perhaps it will help you out too.
There are thousands of murderers in the world, you don't assume everyone you meet is a murderer so why would assume everyone you date is going to break your heart. Try to remember that there are thousands of great guys out there, yours could be one of them...

I guess you just need more time. Dont rush it. He'd have to wait if he really loves you too.
